Phobos is the personification of fear in Greek mythology. Son of Aphrodite and Ares, and known for accompanying Ares into battle along with his twin brother Deimos (terror). Because Aphrodite was their mother, Phobos and Deimos were gods of the fear of loss.
Those who worshipped Phobos often made bloody sacrifices in his name. Deimos and Phobos were represented as young boys. Phobos often is depicted as having a lion’s or lion-like head.
